Description

The McAfee 1402 appliance is a flexible, multi-purpose security solution designed to meet the performance and scalability requirements of small data centers and central sites of medium-sized networks. Appropriate network connectivity can be chosen from a range of selectable interface modules. Thanks to its unified software core it may be used in a NGFW or FW/VPN role (layer 3) to perform secure IP routing, NAT and IPsec VPN gateway applications. Alternatively it may be configured for an IPS role (layer 2) in an IDS deployment or an inline IPS deployment, or even used in a Layer 2 Firewall role. All of these roles are available through a single unified software image, which adapts easily with a configuration change. Regardless of the role and configuration our McAfee Security Management Center (SMC) offers comprehensive management capabilities and visibility to the network.
