This new feature available only on the 6400-i printer allows the printer to detect when a new 6400-i Premium ribbon has been added and when it needs to be changed. Tied in with IBM's exclusive PMU (Printer Management Utility), any user, anywhere, can be alerted to the need to change a ribbon
